Thats pretty much all I can say these days. The pre-draft process is finally over and it feels good, real good. I had a workout today with the Saints today and it went really well. That was my last thing I had to do before this weekend. What can I say I'm JACKED UP about it.

I'm going to be chillin here in Minnesota waiting for my name to scroll across that screen. I can't wait...I literally can't wait.

Crunch time

Hey peeps-

Well the draft is now only 1.5 weeks away...pretty crazy. I am just so anxious to know what team wants me enough to call my name....hopefully on the first day! Whoever takes me is gonna change my life so much...new city, new friends, new teammates...just insane to think about. I'm definitely looking forward to starting that phase of my life...it should be mad fun.

For the draft I think we're just gonna hang at my parents house with family and chill out. Then if/when I get drafted, we'll invite a bunch of friends over to celebrate and have a bit ol party. Should be a good time. I know we're planning on getting some of it on video, which I'm sure we'll get on the web shortly after.

Well all of my visits went really well. It was good to get to know the coaches and see what they're all about. Should be fun no matter where I get drafted.

On a bad note, I've been crazy sick this past week with pneumonia. No good. I'm feeling a little better now though and hopefully will feel 100% soon. I'm just glad this didn't happen during the combine or anything...would have been terrible.

Other than that, just been keeping in shape, enjoying my family and friends, rocking UA gear and waiting for the draft. Let's get it on!!!

Quick hello

Hey all-

Just wanted to give a quick hello and that I'm flying out today to make my first visit to a NFL club. I'm pretty excited about it. I'm anxious to see how things go, and just how these things work. Should be fun.

I'm officially out of South Bend. I drove home this past weekend for good. Lots of great memories from South Bend that I'll take with me forever. I'm also excited to begin the next phase of my life though. It was a good send off weekend though, as Ambrose was there, and Victor flew in from Philly to help us send SB off properly. It was fun seeing him as I haven't seen him in quite awhile.

You guys should also check out Jeff's blog page, as he's blogging more and more right now as his season has started. He's pitching in TN for the AA club there. Shouldn't be too long before he's blowing people away in the Majors!!!

Anyways, I'll be busy the next couple of days with team visits, but I'll try and get out another blog to let you know how they went.

Just a Waiting Game

Hey what's up-

I have been back in ND for a couple weeks now and it has been tough to get used to the cold weather. My blood really thinned out after those few months in SoCal. It has been good here though. The pro day went really well I am happy about that. I am also glad that the hardest parts of this really long job interview that I have been going through are over. Since the pro day things have been pretty chill though. I have just been working out with Sullivan and hanging out with all the fellas.

I got to go home for Easter, which was great. I got to eat some good food and see my family. It's always nice to go home. We had an Easter egg hunt for my 20 month old niece, Avery. I was also in charge of creating some fake Easter bunny tracks which really got a reaction out of her.

That is pretty much about it though. Things have been pretty mellow lately around here. This week I am just workin out some more and slowly moving out of my apartment. We have a packed house so we have to get a Uhaul to put our stuff in for the long drive back to Minnesota. If all goes well we are planning on leaving on Saturday. After I get back home I have a few team visits scheduled. As of now I am planning on going to the Vikings, the Redskins, and the Rams.

So the process is coming to an end. Just a few weeks left to wait and see which city I will be starting the next phase of my life in. Pretty crazy stuff...

Gearing up for the Pro Day

Whaddup everyone-

Well I had an outstanding weekend with my bro, Daniel, who was visiting from Minnesota. We visited some cool spots and he really enjoyed his time in sunny California. Seems like everytime someone comes out to visit, they wanna move here! Murph ended up getting us into a gala for a fundraiser for the Freedom Writers Foundation. The owner of Wahoo's was there, so was Titio Ortiz. Ended up being super fancy and super fun. We were definitely living the life!! Then we went out to the peninsula and enjoyed some good food and drink at Sharky's. The weather was super nice all weekend, so we hung out by the pool quite a bit too...doesn't get much better than that!

Dan left Monday, and after that it was time to get back work in prep for the ND pro day. I'm ready to go and dominate this last workout (most likely) before the draft. Been working a lot on positional drills, as well as cardio to make sure I'm in shape for the beating they're gonna put me through. I'm ready though, and I fly out to ND on the 15th.

Been packing up my apartment too...which is pretty crazy. It's really felt like home here lately...definitely could live out here for a couple years. Not much to dislike about the area. Who knows where I'll end up though! Also been meeting with financial advisors getting prepped for all of that madness...insane.

Last Cali Weekend

Hey out there

Well it's finally coming to an end. I feel like SoCal is my home now since I have been out here for so long. Probably the thing I will miss the most will be the weather. Going back to the harsh cold of South Bend is going to be a dagger. I leave for ND next Saturday, the 15th. I still have a lot of work to do and a lot of fun to have before I arrive on campus.

This being my last weekend in CA, I decided to invite my lil' bro Dan to come down and enjoy it with me. I know he is going to love it down here. He is living up in Duluth, MN right now and he is gonna freak out when he sees what it's like down here. I plan on bringing him down to the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach. I wanna get out in the water and surf or bodyboard, but finding a wetsuit that fits this bod could be a tough task.

Other than that I am still on the grind working hard everyday trying to impress all the critics.

It has been a crazy trip and it is not even close to it end.

Combine Recap

Hey all-

Well I'm done with the combine and it feels great. I'm really happy that it's all done, and even happier that I performed well. It was a crazy process, and something that is pretty unique to go through. It was stressful to go through all the interviews, and meet all the big time coaches...especially when they tried to mess you up by throwing you a curveball just to see how you'd react. It was good though.

As far as the drills, I was real happy with my bench, which was tied for 1st among DTs, and my vertical which was 1st overall among DTs. I always knew I had some hops! I'm pleased with my 40, even though I would have loved to get it under 5 seconds. Oh well I guess. It was still a good time for a DT, so I'm not too worried. My 3 cone was also really good and I was happy about that. For the ND pro day, I don't think I'm gonna do any timed drills again, but instead just focus on the positional drills. I think I did well enough on all the drills that I can do that...it's not a for sure thing yet...but that's what we're leaning towards.

This week I got back into training, but now I'm working more on cardio training for the positional drills, whereas before I was working more on speed training for the combine. It's a little bit different type of training, but I'm still hitting the weights and keep my strength up. I'm working with a positional coach a couple times a week to go through some drills, and he really pushes hard. It's good...but man do I hate to see him cuz I know I'm about to DO WORK!!

I have about two weeks before I head back down to ND to get ready for the pro day, which is on the 19th. Then I'm pretty much done, except for private workouts for teams if they want. Then it's the draft!!!

Well today I'm about to have some fun. Me, Sully and our agent Brian Murphy are gonna go race some high speed go-carts!! I'm pumped! Should be a blast. Then we're gonna head out for dinner and enjoy ourselves. Kind of a congrats on a good combine for us. We're pretty stoked.

Oh, we're also working on an official logo for the site...it's pretty sweet. My cousin Markus and brother Drew are putting it together...we'll be able to put it on some t-shirts and stuff too. Should be sweet. Look for that soon!

Yooooo-

Well, the combine is here and it's a crazy time. From the first moment you arrive, people are talking to your or poking or prodding you to see how you react and what you're made of. It's really kinda insane. At one point they take your x-rays, put them on a board and you go stand under them. Then the teams come around and look at them, poke you, pull you, twist you...all kinds of things to see where your weak spots are. I started laughing at one point because I looked down and there were literally four people grabbing me, one on each limb. It was pretty funny if you think about it.

Anyways, on to the updates. If you remember awhile back one of my goals was to weigh in over 300lbs. Well, I can check that one off as I weighed in at 304 lbs officially. Nice. I also measured 6' 3/4". That is actually a quarter of an inch TALLER than Sedrick Ellis. Not sure why I get dinged for my height and Sed doesn't...but oh well. So I was happy about that.

Today was a trip too. Started off on the bench press. Again, I had set a goal of above 30 reps before the combine...and I can check that bad boy off too cuz I put up 35 reps!!! I am pretty pumped about that. It can be intimidating walking into that room and seeing everyone just staring at the bench. I focused though, and just started pumping myself up. Funny thing happened as I was doing that...the dude that was counting and helping with the bench started getting into it too...and started yelling at me "show em what you got!!", then he pulls out "show em what you got WOLFMAN! Show em WOLF!"...I was like WHAT? I went with it though and absolutely destroyed the bench. I actually tied for 2nd among DL only 2 behind the leader. Some other notables...Kentwan Balmer got 33, Sedrick Ellis got 34, Demario Pressley got 28 and Red Bryant got 20. So I'm pretty proud that I beat all of those guys.

Then I took the Wonderlic test, which wasn't too bad. After that it was meetings, meetings, meetings. Some of the teams were the Jets, Bears, Steelers, Cowboys, Panthers, 49ers and Browns. Some 3-4, some 4-3...so we'll see.

I had 7 straight meetings to end the night. Some went well, some not so well...all part of the process I think. A lot of times they do stuff just to rattle you to see how you handle it...just gotta do what you can. One team was showing some tape of our season and asking all kinds of questions about the defense...and pretty much in each clip I did something wrong or didn't make a play...it was pretty terrible...but can't let them rattle ya...just gotta keep answering questions and try not to get flustered.

Tomorrow is the big day where we are actually on the field doing drills. I'm excited to get on there and DO WORK! Need to have a big day and finish this thing with a bang. I've had a good start so now it's time to go out with a bang. I'll holla when I get back to Cali!!!

The time has come

Well it's time for me to get out to Indy and show everyone what I got. I'm ready for this though, it's been a long time coming and I can't wait to put all this hard training into action. All I have left to do now is pack up all my gear and get ready to leave early friday morning. I have my ipod all loaded up with my pre-workout mixes. It is mostly Modest Mouse and a bunch of classic rock songs.

Training has really slowed down lately with a big focus on recovery. Since I had a lot of extra time today I went into my agents office and we talked about this weekend and what teams want to hear from me. One of the most important things at the combine are the team interviews, and they can get pretty intense. Just imagine a room full of head coaches, general managers, and a white board. They ask all kinds of questions and it can get pretty crazy. Sometimes they just say things just to try to make you freak out so they can see how you react. Crazy.

I'll continue to write to you guys throughout the combine so you can get a better idea of what the meat market is really like.

A week away

Hey hey hey-

How are things? Everything is excellent here. Had a super fun weekend, which is always a good thing. My aunt from North Carolina was in town, and my cousin lives in Burbank, so they came down and we hit up Wahoo's for some most excellent food. I love that place. Whenever someone is in town visiting, we always go there. We don't have them back home in MN, so it's a must visit. Anyways, it was fun seeing them.

Went out to the pool and laid out for like 3 hours straight today. It was soooo nice out. I pumped up the Bob Marley and just relaxed and did a little swimming. I felt like the other people at the pool were doing some serious mean muggin, but I'm sure it was all good. Just a super relaxing way to spend a day. I could definitely get used to that!

I honestly can't believe the combine is a week away!!! Time FLIES out here while I've been training. It's pretty amazing actually. I'm ready, but there's always that feeling of just not being ready that's tough to shake. I've prepared though, and will continue this week getting ready for the big weekend. I fly out Friday night, and weigh in Saturday, and then do start actually working on Sunday and Monday. Pretty crazy man...I'm pumped though...let's get this done and over with!!

40 time

Yo-

I am officially pumped. I've been training hard and definitely seeing results, but after running the 40 again today I'm flying high. After I ran it last week I was bummed, but I kept working and today we ran it again...and I ran a sub 5 second 40!!! I was very impressed. I know I can do that at the combine, so I just have to keep working and be ready. We've done some work with a sport psychologist who has really helped us with positive mental imagery. That stuff works man. Think positive, and positive things will happen. It's definitely something I'll be doing next weekend at the combine...wow...can't believe it's next weekend already!!! Time sure does fly.

Well we had a sweet weekend with my mom and dad. They were only really here for a day, but they got to see my apartment and stuff which was cool. Went out to eat which is always fun...and it's just always good to see family.

Fishing ended up being a lot of fun...but I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't catch ANY fish. I'm a pretty decent fisherman so never thought I would come back empty handed!!! Bummed me out. Steph didn't catch any either, so that would have been even worse if she had caught some and I was still shut out...oh well. A couple people on the boat caught some, so not sure what the deal was.

Off to bed as I'm beat. Ready to dominate the weight room again tomorrow.

Quick hello

Hey all-

Just wanted to say hello and let you know what's going on. Had a great week of training, so I'm super stoked about that. Saturday we took it a bit easier though, which was a nice little break. Got a massage and got to rest the body a bit. Tomorrow a couple of guys from A1 are heading out to do some deep ocean fishing...should be fantastic. Hopefully we can catch some sweet fish that we can bring back and grill up. My family did this once off the Carolina coast and brought back some AMAZING tuna...so I'm looking for some of the same. I'm also still waiting to do some surfing with Drew Radovich...he said he's got a big enough board and wetsuit for me...so I'm itching to try that out. Go big or go home...haha!!!

My mom and dad are coming into town tomorrow for a short visit. They've never been out so I'm excited for them to see my setup here and meet everyone at A1 and stuff. Should be fun.

Combine drills

What up everyone-

Just checking in before I head to bed. I'm pretty beat these days as training has picked up and we're all working super hard. Today we did a lot of combine specific drills, which are tough. I'm definitely not ready, but I'm working hard and will be come end of the month. All the combine drills are technique specific that you really have to understand and learn the specific technique to get better. It's not like benching or squatting...while there's technique involved in those things, it's not like drills. So I'm working on my technique and trying to perfect to shave time off anywhere I can.

Embarrassed myself today after training. We were hanging at the facility goofing around when I decided to run a post. So I took off feeling bomb and like I could definitely be a tight end. Cut hard and looked back for the ball. As I cut tho, I lost my footing, started to fall and never saw the ball coming. JD Booty fired it in and it bounced right off my chest as I fell to the ground. Everyone just busted out laughing at me. I was officially done for the day. I blame it on the leg workout.

Steph's job is going great, but she gets up super early so now we're both going to bed early these days. Gots to though to feel normal.

Well, off to bed. Gotta get my passion bucket full for tomorrow's training session. Only a couple more weeks before it's time to show my skills off!!!

Update

What up-

Not too much going on out here except me training really hard and getting strong. This week we've definitely stepped it up, so I'm glad about that. We're working on all the combine drills, as well as overall strength and speed. I put up 225 31 times yesterday, so I was super pumped about that. Still have a couple to go. We all ran our first 40 yesterday...and I was terrible!! I'm not even gonna tell you the time, but I'll definitely get that down before the combine. Everyone was pretty slow. There are a couple other things I need to work on for the combine, but so far I'm happy with my progress. I will be ready to dominate the combine in a few weeks...guaranteed!!!

Sully and Carlson are also working hard to get ready. Carlson is still feeling the effects of the flu-thing he had, but he's coming back strong.

We're in some preliminary talks with a couple of clothing companies, but nothing imminent. Exciting though!

Weather is ridiculously nice right now....low to mid 70s. I feel bad for my family being out in MN and the freezing temps...I can see why so many people live here!!!

Hope you guys are enjoying the videos my bro is putting up. They are pretty cool and bring back lots of memories. I think there are a couple more that he's putting up, so check back!

Superbowl

Wow, what a game! I really can't believe the Giants won...I thought the Patriots were gonna roll. Glad to see Moss get a TD at least. Thought it was gonna be the game winner, but guess not. Eli was a stud out there. Can't believe that next year I'll be playing against (or with) those guys...crazy.

It's been a good week getting back into the lifting aspect of training. However, I'm ready to take on more and hit it even harder. I need to work on my bench press so I'm gonna really push myself next week. I'm ready to bear down and dominate the weight room. It's time to get serious.

Had a good weekend with Steph and her family. We ate out a lot and had some good fun. It's always good to have some people you know up visiting for a weekend.

The Under Armour commercial that was supposed to feature my fellas Jeff and Tommy hardly showed them at all. That's a bummer. Oh well I guess.

Well I'm off. Can't wait to get huge this week.

Devastation

Well I'm devastated. My beautiful, brand new MacBook laptop that I use everyday just had water spilled all over the keyboard. It hurts me. Bad. We have another computer that I can use, but it's not my new MacBook!!! Plus, it looks like it's gonna cost me like $800 to fix. I have AppleCare, but apparently it doesn't cover that...or hardly anything for that matter. I'm crushed...hardcore.

Anyways, training is going well this week. It's good to get after it again in the weight room. I did the bench test (225#), and I got 30 times, but barely. It took all my strength. I'll need to up that by about 5 by the combine. I can do it for sure. No worries, just gotta keep working.

A lot of my agency is out in Phoenix for the Super Bowl. They're having a big bash down there too, so that would be fun IF we were going!! Oh well, next year maybe I'll be playing in the game!!

Hope you guys have enjoyed my high school highlight video. It's pretty funny to watch that again. Seems like just yesterday we were sending it out to colleges and showing my family. Time flies huh? Crazy...

Back in Cali

Yo-

Well I'm back in Cali and getting ready to ramp up for combine training. I'm MAD sore from the game, so today was pretty easy. Did a lot of stretching, sat in the ice tub and got some treatment. It was a good first day. My back is killing me as the dude from A&M hit me in the back AFTER THE PLAY while I was on the ground...not good. I'll get better quick though. The staff out here is great so I'll be back to hitting it hard in no time flat. Tomorrow we actually start lifting again, so I'll be ready to go. I'll be sore, but I ain't hurt.

My girlfriend Steph started her new job out here as well. Athletes First hooked her up at a law firm helping out, so that's sweet. I'll definitely make her buy dinner this weekend with her new earnings. Her parents are coming up this weekend too, so she's happy about that.

We went and saw There Will be Blood tonight. Amazing acting but average movie.

Jeff and his bro Sammy are also coming into town this week to visit some their sponsors like Burton and Nixon. We're gonna have dinner and hang out as well. It will be good to see them. Looking forward to it.

I'll keep you guys up to date this week on how things are going.

Senior Bowl Game

What up!? Well Senior Bowl Week has come to a bittersweet end with us losing to the South team. Final score was 17-16. But I'm real happy with the way I played. Haven't seen the official stats yet but I had a sack, fumble recovery and a couple tackles. Wish I could have gotten a hand on the extra point kick at the end but I guess it wasn't meant to be. When I got that fumble recovery it shot straight up and into my arms. My first thought was, TOUCHDOWN, but as I wasn't thinking that i got drilled in the back and went down - I was lucky to even hang on to it. It was satisfying to go up against the best of the best and do well - it definitely solidified all the training I've been doing in Cali. Oh and after the game I got an award for Most Dependable Lineman of Senior Bowl Week. Awesome!

I have my family in town with me in Mobile and we're about to go out and get some eats and then have a couple celebratory drinks afterwards. Next week it's back to Cali and back to work!

Senior Bowl Practice 4

Yo-

Cold. That was today's practice. it was wet and brutally cold. We didn't have pads on today, so it was a little less physical as well, which probably made me feel the cold more. Oh well. It was still a good time. I'm really enjoying my position coach, Keith Millard. He's a good teacher that will get on your butt when you screw up, but also give you praise when do something right. It was a good experience that's for sure.

One more day and then gametime! My bro Drew gets in tomorrow night, and my little bro Daniel might be coming tomorrow, but probably Saturday with my mom. My dad and the A1 team went out to eat at Ruth Chris tonight and I filled my belly with some deliciousness.

Not many scouts were on hand today, down from what seemed like 700 yesterday. Not sure how many stay for the game, but I'm still gonna go hard and try to make some plays out there. That's just how I do!

Oh, and a big thanks to everyone who has hit up the store...that's just awesome! I really appreciate it!!! We're trying to get some footballs to sell, as well as game worn jerseys...just not sure when.

Senior Bowl Practice 3

Whaddup-

Well I had my best day today. It was a lot of fun out there, making some plays. I did OK in the one-on-one drills, but I killed it in the team comp. I had a sack, and at least 2 TFLs...it was a good day. If you are watching the coverage on NFL Network at all, they did a piece on me and called me "unblockable"...haha...good stuff. It's always good to get recognition. Sully had another good day as well. A lot of the guys on my A1 team also had good days.

No team meetings today as almost all the scouts and NFL coaches went home. The next couple of days will be lighter practices, so that's good. I'm ready to play in the game, stay healthy, and then head back to Cali to keep training and work on the next phase...the combine.

My main agent from A1 came into town today, Brian Murphy, so that's cool. We hung out a bit tonight and I tried to talk him into buying me a massage...but he wasn't going for that!!

My family comes into town on Friday, with my Dad actually arriving tomorrow, so I'm pumped to see them. It's been a good week, and a GREAT experience. I'm stoked that I was invited here, and the fact that I played well makes it even better.

Senior Bowl Practice 2

Hey all-

Man I'm beat. Practice was tough today physically, and then meeting with all the NFL takes it out of you mentally. I definitely had a better day today on the field, so I'm happy about that. My pass rushes were a lot better and I actually made some plays, so that's good. Need to have a BIG day tomorrow as that's the key day of practice I've been told. Wish me luck!

One of the other DTs got hurt today and actually went home. Ketwan Balmer from UNC tweaked his hammy I guess, so apparently they're bringing in Bryan Mattison from Iowa. That's pretty sweet as obviously I played and was recruited by his dad when he was at ND. Looking forward to playing with him.

The weather has been decent, but nothing to write home about. It's better than my hometown in Minnesota, but not better than where I'm training in Cali!

I talked with a lot of teams today, but the biggest meetings were with the Patriots, Redskins, Seahawks and Lions. They mostly went well, but I'm not gonna say I aced them all! I had some fun with Matt Millen of the Lions. We started talking about wrestling, and so I had to bust out some moves on him of course! That was pretty cool.

Well, I'm off to bed. Got a big day tomorrow.

Well I am down in Mobile, AL for the Senior Bowl and I had my first practice today. It went pretty good, but I feel that I definitely could have done more in the pass rushing drills. I am my own harshest critic, so I feel like I can always do better. The O-line on the North squad is pretty good, so beating them is most definitely a tough task, but that's something I need to do. So tomorrow I'm coming out blazing and will hopefully impress some of the scouts on hand.

Speaking of scouts, I spoke with a couple different teams today, including the Vikings and the Rams. I have some more meetings tomorrow with different teams, so hopefully those go well. It's fun meeting all the different coaches and scouts from the teams, but as you can imagine, it's also pretty nerve-wracking.

I'm rooming with my boy Tommy Z, so that is fun. We always seem to have a good time. He had a good first day, so look for him to turn some heads this week too.

I know Sully isn't feeling too well right now, so hopefully he can play through it. I think he's got some flu-like thing which I hope I never get as it looks terrible. He was out there today though stoning people, so I'm sure he'll play through it.

Hey everyone, WELCOME! First off, my bro put this website together for me, so big props to him. Looks great. He told me that had to be the first sentence in my blog, so there it is! Seriously though, take a look around and check it all out. There's lot of good info on here, plus the store is SICK. Lots of good photos on there, plus some limited game worn items. I'm hoping to get some jerseys, but not sure yet. I'll definitely let everyone know if we can score some though.

Anyways, I'm out in Cali right now working out with Sully and Carlson. We all went with

Athletes First

as our agent, and so far it's been a great decision. My pad out here is sweet, and workout facilities are great too. We have been working out like crazy trying to get ready for the Senior Bowl! Making sure I'm in great shape for that is my #1 goal right now. We fly out to Mobile, AL on Saturday, and then it's time to dominate!!! Definitely looking forward to it.
