Trevor's Answer: Thanks Rachael! Well I suppose this is a little late, but after the combine I really focused on my cardio training as I knew I was gonna focus on positional drills at the pro day. They really put you through the grind with those, so I want to make sure I'm in tip-top for that. I watched Tim Krumrie work over Landri last year in one of the all time biggest workout beatdowns I've seen. Now it's my turn.

Question from Paul: Congrats on the great combine and your career at ND.  As Apple Valley is preparing to capture their 12 state title in 15 years, do you ever miss the wrestling success you had in high school?  The wrestling coaches are wondering when you are coming back to work out with the big boys.  Keep us posted and good luck from all of us in Apple Valley.
Trevor's Answer: Hey Paul, I saw that AV dominated, as usual, in the state tourney to get their 12th state title like you mentioned. That is bomb. Can't say enough about how good of a program Jim Jackson has over there. Every year they're the best...that's hard to do...espeically in high school where you DON'T RECRUIT! I've never worked as hard in practice and endurance as I have during wrestling...well, except getting ready for the combine maybe. I miss wrestling a lot actually. Just the competitiveness of it is addictive. I'll always be a wrestling fan. I would love to come back and watch the young fellas wrestle...and maybe give out a beat down or two!

Question from Nate Bishop: Do you and any teammates in the draft ever talk about getting drafted to the same team and what it would be like? And also, I've tried gaining weight and working out so i could get bigger to play defensive line for my high school team, have any advice on how to get bigger and still stay in shape?
Trevor's Answer: Nah, we don't really talk about playing for the same team in the NFL, but it would be pretty sweet. The truth is anywhere we go will be a dream for us. To get bigger, it's all about calories and then lifting hard. Take in good calories though, lots of protein and not a ton of carbs. Then lift hard. Do big weights for low reps and just keep workin man.

Question from Nate: So what do u think ur gona miss most about the college life and do u think ur ever gona just wish u were back at ND?
Trevor's Answer: Ah man, there's so much I'll miss about ND and I know there's gonna be times where I wish I was back there. The thing I'll miss most is just hangin with all my friends. I'll miss all those guys. From a football perspective, I'll miss the fellas, the feeling of all of us against the other team, of every week the pressure to win, running out of the tunnel, the walk to the stadium and all the cheering fans, looking at TD Jesus...all of that man. It was a special time for me.

Question from Margaret Swinehart: Trevor, I am a huge ND fan and after every game I would come over to get players autographs.  Did you like meeting the fans and signing autographs?
Trevor's Answer: Most definitely. Coming out of the stadium to see all the fans there is great. Now, sometimes it can be a bit tough after a loss, but it's great to see all of the support. Most special for me was my last game ever at ND. I was attacked when I came out of the stadium...just a ton of people and I took my time and signed all of the autographs cuz I knew it was my last time.

Question from Katie McDevitt:  When it gets closer to the NFL draft will you be doing any interviews in the city where a fan can possibly meet you after?
Trevor's Answer: I would be down with a meet and greet or something like that in a city. Or maybe a signing or something like that. We'll see. My bro and my agent both work on that kind of stuff, so maybe they'll get something hooked up.

Question from Chuck N:  I've read you may be getting some endorsements.  Getting with under armer would be sweet.  I would love to see you zib and smarj do a commercial for UA.  What other things would you like to sponser.  Myoplex??  "Now I'm done."
Trevor's Answer: Haha...now that would be hilarious. I can guarantee you we won't be copying Brady's commercial, but that would be mad tight to do a spot with Tommy. Since me, him and Jeff are all UA, who knows, maybe they'll do a ND UA commercial or something! As for other sponsors, I'm open to whatever man. I like a lot of non team sport stuff too, like wakeboarding, skiing and stuff like that. Maybe Hyperlite needs a 300 wakeboarder on their lineup!!

Question from Ronnie B: I was just wondering what teams interviewed you at the combine, and what was the most interesting question or the one that caught you off guard the most? I'm a huge Bengals fan and know the scouts have showed interest in you, what do you think? WHO DEY!!!  
Trevor's Answer: I spoke to just about every team at the combine, or at least it seemed like it. Interviewed a ton. Well, one team was definitely trying to rattle me and see how much I pay attention. They drew out their entire D on the board, explained certain formations and responsibilities and stuff, then erased it and told me to draw it again. Haha, I was like whoa. I did alright tho...I hope. I would love to play for the Bengals! I have a LOT of family in Cincy so I'd be proud to dominate in Ohio!

Question from Jack: Trev, I eat, sleep, and breath ND football, and if it weren't for you, I would've died this year watching ND play.  Now that your gone though, who will step up and become the next Trevor Laws, an absolute animal of a d-lineman that just refuses to quit?  Maybe Ian Williams, or someone else?
Trevor's Answer: Thanks Jack I appreciate the kind words. Well, obviously no one will be as good looking as I was on that D Line, but there should be some guys that step up on the football side. Definitely my boy Kuntz is an animal and will give himself 100% to the team and game. Ian Williams is also a very good player and will continue to flourish in that scheme.

Question from Gordon:  Is there a certain pre-game song that you play as a tradition, that gets you the most fired up?  If so, what is it?
Trevor's Answer: Well, I listened to my iPod a lot pregame, and would listen to a lot of AC/DC, Zep, Foo, Metallica...stuff like that to just get me jacked. I wanted to go into that tunnel as fired up as possible, and those songs usually helped out with that.

Question from Austyn Nettrour: Trevor you are my favorite football player of all time you are like an idol to me. I play football in Bremen just about 10 minutes south of Notre Dame. I am a freshman at bremen. I play defenceive tackle just like you and i was wondering if you can give me some tips on how to becomeing a better tackle.
Trevor's Answer: Thanks Austyn, that's pretty sweet that I'm someone's favorite football player of all time! Well, playing in the trenches requires a couple of things, most notably strength, leverage, technique and heart. Get strong by working hard in the weight room. Gain leverage by learning to use your lower body properly (wrestling helps A LOT with this). Gain technique by listening to your coaches and looking at film...and heart comes from you. Good luck!

Question from Liz Malone:  I am curious about your thoughts on upcoming season for Notre Dame.  Do you expect to see a lot of growth out of the young guys?  Who do you think will have a breakout year?
Trevor's Answer: I definitely think ND will be better than last year, no doubt about it. Being as young as we were at such key spots was really tough. I think you'll see a steady improvement from the fellas...and hopefully even more. Obviously I think Jimmy will be better as being a true freshman QB is always tough. Look for Bruton to continue his good play, and Neal and Smith should kill some QBs as well.

Question from Kameron: Have any teams asked you to work out for them individually?  Or is that not until after Pro Day?  Please tell me Holmgren is showing interest.  we neeeed you in seattle!
Trevor's Answer: Yeah, I'm going on a couple of visits coming up next week, I mention them in my blog. I also have a couple more that I'm going on that I didn't mention, but we're gonna keep those quiet before the draft. I spoke Seattle at the combine and things went well. I'd love to be up there in Seattle...would be a great music scene obviously!

Question from Chelsea: How do you think you would do at the Indianapolis Colts? They are my favorite NFL team and I think you would be a great addition to there family! Good luck in the draft!  :-):-)
Trevor's Answer: I'd love to be a Colt!!! Playing along side Dwight Freeney would be outstanding. We would be quite the force!!! We'll know in a few weeks!!!

Question from Rachael:  Hey Trevor I was just wondering if Draft Day will be your first time in New York City? Do you plan on doing any sightseeing? Good luck! Here's hoping the Cowboys play it smart and pick you!
Trevor's Answer: Actually, I'll be in MN for the draft with my family. We're gonna watch it together and enjoy the day. After the draft, if I get picked on the 1st day...we're definitely having some people over to celebrate. Can't wait!!!!

Question from Aimee: What has been the hardest part of preparing for the draft?
Trevor's Answer: Wow, that's a tough question. There's been so many tough things about getting ready for the draft. I would probably have to say having to be at the top of your game for 4+ months in all aspects of life. That is just tiring and can wear on someone quickly. I'm talking about off the field too, preparing for interviews, eating right, going to bed early, doing interviews, meeting with coaches...it can tire a brotha out! It's definitely fun and exciting too, but it is most definitely hard work. It's literally like a 4 month job interview. Trevor's Answer: Yep, I actually talk to Tommy all the time, as well as Jeff. Some of the other guys I also keep in touch with like Pat Kuntz and Casey Cullen. I made some lifelong friends at ND and will always stay in touch with them. I'll pass on the message about websites...they definitely need to get one!

Question from Michael: Hi, yes Trevor, I am a HUGE ND fan, have been all my life. Loved watching you play. I am also a Cowboys fan. I was wondering how you think you would fit in with there 3-4 D. And also how you would like playing on the field with the best team in the NFL.
Trevor's Answer: Well, I think I could fit in well in almost any scheme in the NFL. I think my more natural positions would be inside in a 4-3 D playing the 3-technique, but I've played all over the line and feel comfortable anywhere. If the Cowboys drafted me, I'd for sure be pumped!

Question from Jack: I play football for my highschool, I start on the  O line but i wanna play D line i was wondering if you have any advice for me to become better?
Trevor's Answer: Well I played both o-line and d-line in high school as well, and they're similar, yet different. On offense you are in control and know where you're going. On D, you are constantly reacting and reading to what is the offense is doing. If you want to play D, keep working on your explosion and your core strength activities, like squat, dead lift, etc. These will help you explode and be able to blow up that line!

Question from Rachael: Hey Trevor I'm a big Modest Mouse fan too. Whats you're favorite song or album? (I know thats a hard question because I can't pick either) I'm trying to get tickets to their show in NYC this summer. Have you seen them live?
Trevor's Answer: I really like their new album, "We were dead before the ship even sank" as it's a lot like their older stuff. Actually, I could listen to just about ANY MM song and be happy. I've seen them live quite a few times, probably around 7 or 8...and it never gets old.

Question from Bryan Dyer: My question is why don't more players train at ND with coach Mendoza for the combine in IN, and is Mendoza a great speed and strength coach?
Trevor's Answer: Well, I think when a player signs with an agent, they have a workout facility and program that they usually send their recruits too...which was the case with me. I'm out in Cali training with all the A1 rookies, which has been a great experience. You feed off each other and really train for the specific combine drills, which is really important. Reuben is a great coach, and really pushes you hard in the weight room. We've had more than one guy puke in the weight room because he was pushing us.

Question from Linda:  I was wondering what drills you will be participating in and what the coaches and scouts are looking for in each one?  Best of luck!!!  Can\'t wait to follow your NFL career!!
Trevor's Answer: Well I suppose this might be a bit late, but I participated in all the combine drills. The coaches are looking for different things in different drills...for instance in the 3 cone, they want to see how quick you are and how well you move in tight places. Whereas in the 40 it's mainly about straight line speed. The vertical can relate to explosion, and the bench press translates to strength. I think I did pretty well in all those drills so I'm pleased with my performance!

Question from Richard Rush:  Hey Trev, Just wanted to know if you will be selling autographed mini helmets in the near future? Also could you sell some John Carlson or Tom Zbikowski items or tell those guys to start their own web sites.
Trevor's Answer: Probably won't be selling mini-helmets anytime soon as they're pretty spendy to come by, but hopefully will be getting some white panel autographed footballs, as well as game worn jerseys. Look for those soon! I'll pass along the info to Tommy and John...they do need one!

Question from Aaron Ramun: How would you feel if you got drafted by the 49ers? Im a huge Niner fan and belive me we need d-line man that can get pressure on the QB hopefully the day after the draft you will be holding up a 49er jersey.
Trevor's Answer: I'd be SUPER pumped about getting drafted by the 49ers. Being out in Cali has made me really appreciate the west coast, so I'd love to play out here. I think they play some both 4-3 and 3-4, so their scheme would fit me well.

Question from John Myles Trevor, Congrats on such a fine individual season, and career for the Irish! Who would be your ideal team to be drafted by? Obviously, scheme is important, but if you could be drafted by any team, who would it be and why?
Trevor's Answer: Thanks John! Well, I think I've mentioned this before, but I'd be happy with ANY team that needs me and will use me properly so that I can help that team on the field. Just being in the league is a dream of mine, so making that happen with any team would be great.

Question from Jeremy:  Hey! I'm a French DT/DE and you are something like my model. Always smiling, always playing hard. I'm seeing your combine...not that bad! What are your pros and cons in your opinion?
Trevor's Answer: Hey, pretty sweet I have some European fans!! Nice! Well, I think my pros are my athletic ability, motor, strength, versatility, technique, relentlessness and attitude. I think I bring a lot to the table. As for weaknesses, I think I'll leave that up to the opposing offense to figure out!!! ;-)

Question from Dylan: What round did the Cowboys say they would draft you. I'm a huge Cowboy fan and i think you would be a hell of a defense tackle or end for them. I\'m also a huge ND fan and I bleed blue and gold. I went to see you guys play Navy in Balitimore in 2006 and we stayed at your hotel the Marriot and you guys were not allowed to sign autographs. Is there a reason for that.
Trevor's Answer: Haha, well the Cowboys didn't tell me what round they'd draft me, but hopefully high!! Trevor's Answer: Both actually. We have really been working on getting my bench up so I can get 30+ reps at the combine. On the flip side, I want to make sure I stay fast and quick to I can run a 40 around 5 seconds or under. I need to be strong, but not lose my speed. That's my game, so that's what I'm concentrating on and making sure nothing is compromised.

Question from Alicia: Have you started to be contacted by interested NFL teams? I don't know how that process starts, or if/when you'll be doing workouts for specific teams.  I'm hoping you'll be coming out to the Northwest (Seahawks) so I have a reason to cheer for them, and possibly see you play.  
Trevor's Answer: Thanks Alicia! Well, outside of the Senior Bowl, there hasn't been much contact with NFL teams. They mainly leave you alone because they know they'll be all over us at the combine. The combine will be constant meetings with NFL coaches and scouts...so they'll get to know me plenty well.

Question from Nick H: First of all i want to thank you for being a bright spot in a dark season for ND.  I also appreciate your courage in coming back to a young and inexperienced team, when you could have just taken the easy way out.  You are truly a ND man.  My question, however, is what do you see in the young team that we have next year that makes you optimistic for our future?
Trevor's Answer: Hey Nick, thanks man, I appreciate the good words. To your question, there are so many good things about ND to be excited about in the coming years. First off, look at the recruiting class we just got...top 5 in the nation! Can't beat that! I've said this before, but every single player on that team is hungry. Hungry to prove people wrong and show them that ND is back and won't stand for another season like we had last year. They will definitely surprise some people next year.

Question from Juliet: What up Trevor? Just thought I'd drop in and tell you I'm prepared for total domination in the combine, and I can't wait to see what you bring to the NFL! However speaking of stepping up...you going to see Step Up 2? Cuz I think you, Steph, me and Tommy Z should all go see it together...lol, just throwing it out there,

Trevor's Answer: Haha...now that's good stuff. You know, I'm pretty sure Tommy is single, but not so sure if he wants to see Step Up 2...ya just never know though. Question from Eric:  After going to Notre Dame, do you feel even more connected to the blue and gold legacy than you previously did?  My dad instilled a crazy sense of pride in Notre Dame, and I can't imagine how awesome it must have felt walking out of that tunnel and slapping that sign every Saturday.  What was it like?
Trevor's Answer: Oh man, it's truly unbelievable. It's one of the best feelings in my life to come busting out of that tunnel to start a game. Hearing the crowd, no, feeling the crowd, the band, running out onto the field, pointing up to my family...man, it's crazy. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. It's pretty amazing. I highly recommend it! I will always be strongly connected to the Irish for my 5 years there and what they meant to me...I have tremendous pride in wearing that gold helmet and it's not something I'll ever forget.

Question from Tyler B: Trevor what team would you like to go to or if u dont know what round u think your going to be drafted in?
Trevor's Answer: I really don't know what round yet, but obviously the higher the better. Getting into Round 2 would be unreal and beyond anything I could imagine. As far as what team...doesn't really matter man. Just want to get drafted by a team that wants and needs my talents.

Question from Peter: In order to make the playoffs this year, the Browns need a strong defensive end that has 3-4 experience who can stop the run well.  You don't know anyone in the upcoming draft that might fit these requirements would you?  
Trevor's Answer: Haha....hmmmmm...I might have to think about that one....nah, I would love to be a part of the Browns, or any team where I could contribute. I think my more natural position is inside in a 4-3, but obviously can play DE in a 3-4 if that's what the team needs!

Question from Chris Delmedico: Hey Trev...i was wondering if making the transitions from high school to college and now from college to the next level has been easier than others because of the love and support you have from a great family and friends? Also, do you feel you have a conditioning advantage on other players from chasing your buddies around the frisbee field for all those years?
Trevor's Answer: Haha, that's a sweet question. Obviously having great family and friends has really helped me succeed in not only sports, but also life in general. Without that, I can't imagine being truly motivated. Throwing the bee around all those years for sure helped me with my speed and agility...I mean, that was some tough competition! ULTIMATE!!!!!!!

Trevor's Answer: I didn't look at it that way. I always thought that this was my last shot to prove to everyone out there that I was a baller, and could dominate on this level and the next. I think a lot of guys look at this way. Everyone? Not sure. Now when we're talking all star games or something, then yeah, the thought of staying healthy is definitely in your mind. You want to impress, but getting hurt then is the last thing you want to happen.

Question from Dan: What up GROND! My family truely enjoyed watching you give 200% every game. What is the first thing you are going to buy when you get PAID? Did you get an advance from your agent? If so, I may have to think about applying for a job in the NFL (maybe I can be a pooch punter).  
Trevor's Answer: Hey man, appreciate it!! Wow...that's a tough question. The easy answer is a new ride, but I'm gonna drive my current car til it dies!! At least that's what I'm telling myself now. Might get a nice TV and some nice couches. A nice recliner so I can chill and watch some hi-def TV. Sounds pretty good to me. Maybe a big fish tank too where I can get some crazy fish in there.

Trevor's Answer: Haha wow....and official challenge huh? First off, I will dominate you. You will end up crying and I really don't like to do my fans like that!!! Only kidding...but not really. Unfortunately, I don't have a Xbox right now where I'm training, so I can't play. I would like to get one, but funds are tight right now. When I do hook one up...you'll be first on my list!!

Question from Rachael: Hey Trevor! Love that clip of Sammie the Salmon! You and Jeff both play the guitar right? Do you guys jam together? What kind of stuff do you play? Can't wait to watch you intimidate offenses on Sundays!
Trevor's Answer: Wow can't believe you said you loved that clip of me "singing". I'm still petitioning to get that taken off. Well, I would use the word "play" very careful here, cuz that's not what we exactly do. We try, and we can play some parts of songs here and there, but that's about it. We don't jam, probably cuz we couldn't. We do, however, dominate on guitar hero. We melt faces!

Question from Aaron: First, let me say thank you for all you did while at ND.  You showed great perserverance and dedication despite the tough season last year.  Those traits will serve you well at the next level.  My question is what did you see of the younger guys last year that will allow them to rebound and bring ND back to it's rightful place atop the college football mountain?
Trevor's Answer: Thanks Aaron!! All of those young guys are hungry. I think that's one of the main things about the underclassmen this past year. None of them were scared or intimidated, and all felt they were ready to play. ND has a ton of young talent, and all of them are hungry and ready to ball. They will get back soon...guaranteed.

Trevor's Answer: Haha now that's an interesting request!!! Definitely a first. If I do cut my hair, I'll definitely shoot you an email and let you know!!!

Question from Nick Ironside: Hey- Are you going to put up any Trevor Laws t shirts with a catchy Slogan or something?  Just wondering - because A) I love those type of shirts and B) I can afford them (I'm 15).
Trevor's Answer: That's a great idea Nick. I would LOVE to have some shirts up for sale like that. Maybe I'll have a contest or something and have people send in t-shirt slogan ideas. We've been brainstorming but haven't been able to come up with something perfect. Great idea though.

Question from Jeanene: Hi, Trevor. Congratulations on a super week in AL! I really enjoyed watching you during the practices and the game. Lots of cheers for you went up from our living room! Anyway, I just wanted to know if you were willing to comment on the new Jon Tenuta hire at ND. I , for one, am super excited about the defense that's possible. Can you imagine? All of CB's knowledge and intensity and Tenuta's aggressive blitzing schemes? What do you think?
Trevor's Answer: I think that is a GREAT hire for ND. I also thought GT's defense was crazy good, and super hard to read. Bringing some of that to ND will only help. Plus, with a lot of the younger players on the team, having them fly around and use their speed will definitely create some havoc.

Trevor's Answer: Thanks man! Yeah, I sprained my foot late in the Stanford game and it was giving me a lot of pain. But man, it was my last game EVER. I couldn't out like that. I wanted to walk off the field on my own...not hobbling off. Plus part of me wanted the tackle record and I wasn't sure how many I had. My foot is fine now though.

Question from Douglas Hillary: Trevor, great career at ND!  Love the way you play.  Good luck at the Senior Bowl, Combine, and draft day.  All your hard work will pay off soon. Never lose that edge and look forward to seeing you play on Sundays.  Have you noticed interest from the Bears at all? You fit their scheme and would be an instant fan favorite.  I'd buy a 98 Bears jersey without question!
Trevor's Answer: Haha, glad to hear a 98 Bears jersey is on order with ya!! Chicago would be cool with me. Plus I love the way Tommie Harris plays, so that would be cool to learn from him. It's still pretty early yet, so anything can happen!!!

Question from Jim: First off, I want to say thanks for all the hard work you devoted to the great and glorious ND!  We hated to see ya go big guy.  Now, have you heard any news about our recruiting class as far as who we will land before signing day?  Also, what's it looking like for the future of ND?
Trevor's Answer: Thanks man! As for the signing class, I don't have any inside news or anything, but it sounds like they're incoming class is killer! They'll be young, but they'll have a lot of talent. Not doubt they'll be back in the BCS soon!! GO IRISH!!

Question from Dan: I really enjoying playing college football online on the PS3 and beating down people with the Irish. Just wondering if you or any of your Irish teammates get into this game as well and who on the team is a good video game baller?
Trevor's Answer: Oh yeah, lots of people play NCAA. I get into it a little bit, but my game is Halo and Guitar Hero. Me, Kuntz, Tommy all kill it on Halo. Super fun. Obviously I dominate all!!! ;-)

Question from Jack C.: Anyway, my question is on your opinion of how much we can/should expect the ND O-line to improve next year - is there any hope that these guys can resemble some of the fearsome lines of yesteryears next season?  We know it was the Achilles' heel of the team all season, but from your perspective, was it something correctable - like youth, inexperience, lack of familiarity with blocking schemes, OR was the poor performance due to lack of talent, desire, ability to comprehend the schematics?  Given your experience in going against these guys in practice, do we have any right to hope that next year is going to be better?
Trevor's Answer: I guarantee the Oline to be better next year. Even though they are losing Sully, they got guys that are maturing and getting better every day. The problems we had were definitely NOT due to desire. That always burns me up when people question our effort...we ALWAYS give 100%...but for whatever reason we don't get it done. Stewart is getting better, and Duncan will be a stud. Sam Young stepped up and is getting better. You also got Turk and Wenger that will solidify the line. With freshmen coming in, the line looks good for next year and beyond.

Question from Michael Stimpfel: With the absense of many team leaders including yourself,zibby, and carlson who do you see steping up to take leadership roles on next years team?
Trevor's Answer: Well, that's always tough, but definitely Mo Crum. He is a natural leader and will continue doing that next year. On the offensive side, I'm sure Jimmy will step up as he gets more comfortable being "the man" at ND. I could also see Bruton stepping up and being more vocal next year. All stand up guys.

Question from Tom: Anyway, my question for you is- how did you get to be so good at blocking kicks and batting down passes?  You must have been at or near the top in both categories nationally.  Other guys your size and height don't get half the number you do.  Do you have an unusually long wingspan or high vertical jump, even by the standards of D1 linemen?  Did you play basketball a lot when you were younger? Again, good luck to you in the league.  I know I speak for many ND fans when I say you\'ve joined the pantheon of fondly-remembered ND greats like Rice, Mirer, Bettis, Zorich, etc.
Trevor's Answer: Wow, first off thanks for mentioning me with ND greats like that. That is definitely an honor. As for knocking down passes, it's just something I've always been taught...to get my hands up. If I'm not sacking the QB, I'm getting my hands up to try and knock down a pass. My boy Kuntz also has a knack for that. For blocking kicks...I just don't take that play off. Some people loaf on kicks...I don't. Plus I can get sideways and get between lineman to get as close as possible. I did play bball as a kid, until wrestling took over in middle school.

Question from Chief Bailiff: Trevor we all know you were the best Defensive Lineman at ND the last 5 years.I want to know who was the best WR at ND.Jeff please turn your head for a second,just in case.
Trevor's Answer: Haha...well of course I have to say my boy Jeff!!! I was on the same team as some great guys though...like MoSto, Rhema and now I see Robbie coming into his own as well. Plus Shelton was one fast dude. Oh yeah, and Omar Jenkins was good as well.

Question from Mike L: I lived down the hall from you on the second floor of Dillon when you roomed with Ambrose and Vic. What were those guys like to live with?
Trevor's Answer: Oh that's cool man! Vic and Ambrose are my boys!! I actually lived with each of them after the dorms too. Vic is pretty chill, and was always hangin with his "wife" Danielle. Ambrose was always bumpin beats hard. We all played video games and definitely had a good time in Dillon.

Question from Richard Rush: I know you and the guys had to have wrestling matches behind the scenes. What players would challenge you the most? What was the outcome?
Trevor's Answer: Most definitely. We absolutely got into some heated wrestling matches in the locker room. Me and Sully would battle constantly...especially our freshman year. He knows not to battle me anymore though. Borsetti would always get into the mix too...trying to act like he was a big boy. We generally stopped wrestling tho cuz more than likely someone always got hurt. We're too big to be wrestling like that in a locker room. It was fun though and someone is always doing some type of wrestling move on somebody.

Question from Andrew: My friends and I were wondering if you had a nickname.  We always called you "Grond."  If you recall, Grond is the enormous battering ram in the Lord of the Rings that is used to demolish the formidable walls of Minas Tirith.  It looks menacing and the armies of orcs and trolls chant "Grond!" repeatedly upon its arrival.  We thought it was an appropriate nickname, as you were often able to breach the walls of opposing offensive lines, thus causing great harm to opposing QBs and RBs, and additional wailing and gnashing of teeth among opposing fans. Would you like Grond to be your official nickname if you don't have one already?
Trevor's Answer: Haha...dude this has to be the best email I've gotten from anyone. If you didn't know, I'm a huge LOTR fan...love it. I laughed out loud when I read this email. Grond is the bomb nickname...I'm officially Grond!!! GROND GROND GROND GROND!!!

Question from Jack S: Hey Trevor!!! I was just wondering what you thought of the rough 2007 season.  I am THE biggest ND fan ever and every loss was like a death in the family.  Also, do whatever you can to get drafted by the browns.  I live in Columbus so I'll b able to see you play and you'll be able to play with Brady
Trevor's Answer: Well man, it was tough. Losing is never fun. None of us ever gave up though, we fought hard ti the end. Even tho the season was tough one, I definitely don't regret coming back for my 5th year. Every experience is a learning one.

Question from Kichal Jennings: The very first time you put on that amazing ND jersey what went through your mind?
Trevor's Answer: Well, first thought was "Dream Come True". I was pumped. Felt so good. Went and looked in the mirror and thought "Damn I look fat". Haha, true story. It was definitely awesome though. I'll never forget wearing ND colors and running out of the tunnel...thrilling.

Question from Dave Scherer: Trev who was the toughest OL you went up against all week?
Trevor's Answer: Well, of course Sully is always tough. We know each other so well that it's tough for either of us to win. Besides Sully though, Radovich is a beast. Very technically sound. He might have the worst body of any college athlete, but he's a stud. The dude from Oregon State was also tough.

Question from Skip: Great Senior Bowl game and you deserve your reward for an outstanding week you had in Mobile. On the last play of the game, I have to ask you.
"How badly were you held and did # 70 put a hold on your face mask as well. I thought I saw your head snap back? On to the combine and continue to work hard in CA!!!
Trevor's Answer: Of course they held me...they always do. I don't remember about the facemask, but definitely held me. They were actually holding A LOT all game. Especially the dude from Texas A&M...he was a cheap shot artist and held constantly. At one point I yelled at him "DUDE, IT'S AN ALL STAR GAME, WHAT ARE YOU DOING???". He wasn't cool at all. Oh well, whaddya gonna do. People trying to make a name for themselves.

Question from Les Taylor: As a fan of the New England Patriots, its hard to ignore the age of the linebackers (both Junior Seau and Tedy Bruschi have indicated they may retire, especially if they win the Super Bowl).  It's also clear that Coach Belichick likes to draft defensive linemen and convert them into linebackers.  You certainly would be familiar with the system.  Should they select you in the 2008 draft, do you feel that you could make that transition?
Trevor's Answer: Well, while I appreciate your confidence in my abilities to play LB...I have no shot at playing that particular position. I'm just way too big. I feel I could be effective as a DE in a 3-4 similar to what NE plays, but not a stand up LB. Trevor's Answer: Yeah, the media does pay attention to the team's record, and probably rightfully so. However, I think the biggest thing is preseason hype. If you're on all the preseason lists, then you at least have a shot for the final one. The media is all about hype, and I just didn't get the hype at the beginning, so I couldn't get it at the end. I'm OK with it. While it would be nice to be recognized, it's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.

Question from Ryan Fitzpatrick: Have pro teams already started contacting you in regards to coming in for interviews or workouts?  When does something like that normally happen for a player like you?  
Trevor's Answer: Well, I'm talking to a lot of pro teams right now during the Senior Bowl. This is a big time to interview with them and have them get to know me. After that, the combine is the next big thing. Then the ND pro day is in late March. After that I may be contacted by some pro teams for a private workout , but I may not. Who knows.

Question from Chris: So much internet and fast communications in the world, the fans have really become informed and disinformed too. Do the players pay attention to the information, or do they just blow it off and say that is part of it for going to a high profile program?
Trevor's Answer: Nah, you can't read that stuff. I know my family does, and they relay some of it to me, but you can't really get caught up in that or it might get in your head...good or bad.

Question from David Ramsay: Many have speculated that the poor season was due to poor team chemistry is there anything to this?
Trevor's Answer: No way, at least not anything that I saw. Even though it was a tough season, we all hung together. We had to or we would have completely melted down. I love all my whole team from last year and wouldn't trade that year for anything.

Question from Strad: Is it odd being on the same team as all those trojans?
Trevor's Answer: To tell you the truth, I thought it might be at first, but a lot of those guys signed with Athletes First with me, so I've been working out with them for the past month. Drew Radovich, Keith Rivers and JD Booty are all cool dudes and I wish them nothing but the best.

Question from Mike Bucha: I've been a long time fan of yours. Playing throught the adversity this year was pretty incredible. Question for you. With the combine coming up, I was wondering what your goals are for the drills. For example the bench press, 40 so on.
Trevor's Answer: Thanks bro. For the combine, I don't have a ton of specific goals, except bench press which I need to get over 30. I would like to run a sub 5 40, but then again that's not a huge drill for DTs. My goal is to train hard, test good and stay injury free. If I do that, I'll be happy.

Question from Jack: If  even the Stanford game was your last game...as a fan it was one of the most exciting  (after further review)  games I've witnessed. What do you think of LVB (Ludwig Von Beethoven), if anything...
Trevor's Answer: I have actually stopped on the local classical channel from time to time, but I don't know any of the composers or their works. It is good chill music though.

Question from Dan: Trev - it is pretty cool to see a couple of my favorite ND players ever - you and Jeff - also dig a band that has been my favorite for years, Modest Mouse. My questions - what is your favorite album? For me it doesn't get better than The Lonesome Crowded West.
Trevor's Answer: Nice! Glad to see another Modest fan out there. I hear you on the Lonesome Crowded West, and that one is hard to beat. I actually all of their albums, except maybe Sad Sappy Sucker which isn't my favorite. Trevor's Answer: Has to be USC 2005. Best game ever, only the final score didn't turn out the way we wanted. When we warmed up in our home blues, and then walked into the locker room and saw those green jerseys...we were pumped beyond belief. The atmosphere for that game was on another level. I'll never forget it.

Question from NDCOOP: You are awesome!  Just wondered how you felt about your experience at ND.  Any regrets about not going somewhere else?  Do most of the players seem content at ND?
Trevor's Answer: Thanks man! Absolutely never do I regret going to ND. The friends I've made here I wouldn't trade for anything. They are literally the type of people that I'll know the rest of my life. That doesn't happen at every school. Plus, if football doesn't work out, or once I'm done, I'll always have the ND degree which will always mean something in the business world. As for players being content, everyone is different. Not every player is going to love it, but overall I'd say we had a very close team.

Question from Sean: Trevor, I'm very concerned about the depth issues on the irish d-line for 2008 with your departure and the questions surrounding Pat Kuntz. Do you see any players that have thus far recieved little to no playing time being able to step in and fill the void?
Trevor's Answer: Well, if Kuntz has to sit out next year, then that will obviously hurt the depth at d-line. There are some great players though that I'm sure will step up next year. A couple of those are Ian Williams and Justin Brown. Look for both of those players to be big time next year. I'm guessing a freshman or two will have to step up as well due to depth issues.

Question from Sally: If you could choose, where would you like to play nfl football?
Trevor's Answer: To tell you the truth, the team that drafts me will instantly become my favorite team!! However, if I had my choice, being close to my family in MN would be hard to beat.

Question from Mike E: I know you're from Minnesota and its usually pretty cold up there. Do you do any snowboarding or any other action sports?
Trevor's Answer: Actually, I do like to throw down in some action sports. Both of my brothers are big time into wakeboarding and snowboarding, so I definitely like doing both of those. However, I have to admit I'm more of a skier than snowboarder. On the water is really I really shine though, as I love wakeskating and wakesurfing as well. My brother Drew has a boat so we're out there as much as possible in the summer when I have time off.

Question from Richard R: What round do the so called experts predict you be drafting? I hope you get drafted by my Giants because I know you are going to be a beast in the NFL. P.S. Justin Tuck would also like to see you in a Giant uniform.
Trevor's Answer: I'm not totally sure where the "experts" have me slotted yet, but my goal is to work hard, keep getting better and hopefully make an impact on someone. I've heard all kinds of things, anywhere from the 2nd round to the 5th round. It's so early that it's hard to say though. After the combine things become a lot more clearer. Oh, and tell Tuck I say what up!

Trevor's Answer: I have heard of Band of Horses. I really like their song "Is There A Ghost". I haven't listened to them as much as the Lips or Modest, but maybe I'll have to check them out more. Thanks for the tip!

Trevor's Answer: You are on the the money with that one...I love to cook...and obviously eat! I'm a big fan of BBQ Chicken on the grill. I like to make my own sauce with some special seasonings, and grill the chicken just right. That's hard to beat. Oh, and thanks for the kind words.
